Modular Merchant version 3.6
Released 06/02/2011
How do I update my Modular Merchant account?
For clients running version 3.x:
The next time you log in to your store Administration area, this update will automatically be installed.
If you're already logged in to your store's administration area when this update becomes available, then an icon stating "An Update is Available" will be displayed in the upper-right section of your Admin Home page. Click this icon to review the release notes, and then install the update by clicking the "Install this Update" button at the bottom of that page.
This update includes the following items:
- Miscellaneous Fixes and Improvements
This update includes a compilation of various hotfixes we've made for various issues that have cropped up since the last update. Fixes for several miscellaneous issues, such as typos and display errors, are included in this update. - Laying the Groundwork for MMv4
This update adds the first layer of code behind the scenes in preparation for the upcoming MMv4 software update. This code does not include any visible changes; it changes the way the system communicates with several APIs. This layer of code will enable us to start releasing some more good stuff as soon as it's ready!
What's Next?
Update 3.6 is the last major update planned for the 3.x series. Maintenance and/or security updates will continue to be released for 3.x as needed, but the next planned update to be released will be version 4.0 (also known as "MMv4").
Since MMv4 is an enormous update with many changes, it is going to be released in several stages. Here's the current plan to help our clients "ease" into MMv4.
1. As of today, we're a little more than half-way through the planned three-month beta testing period for MMv4. The beta testing will continue until completed.
2. After the beta testing period is completed, clients will be able to start trial accounts running the MMv4 software so they can "get a feel" for the new design, layout, features, etc., and ask questions before converting their live account to MMv4.
3. Accounts will not convert from version 3 to MMv4 via a regular software update. This will allow clients to schedule a time to upgrade their account to MMv4 after they've had a chance to prepare. Converting an account from version 3 to MMv4 will be a manual process that Modular Merchant's Support Team will handle.
