How to fix emails sent from "anonymous@server123"

Hello,
A few clients have mentioned that earlier this week the "from" address of the emails sent from their store changed from their email address to "anonymous@server123...".

We've been reviewing the server logs, and, sure enough, earlier this week a security update which could result in this behavior was applied to those servers.

Fortunately, correcting the "from" address for your store's emails is simple. If this issue is affecting your store, you can fix it by following these steps:

1. In your store's Administration area, go to the System Settings. This is located at: [Admin > System Settings].

2. Make sure that a "Company Name" is entered in System Setting # 4.

3. Make sure that a valid email address is entered in System Setting # 13.

4. In the "Email Format Settings" section of the page, set the following options:
Setting # 58, "Email Header Line Ending", set to: "/r/n"
Setting # 59, "Use 'From' Header?", set to: YES (Selected)
Setting # 60, "Use 'Mime Version' header?", set to: No (Deselected)
Setting # 61, "Use 'Reply-To' header?", set to: No (Deselected)
Setting # 62, "Use 'Return Path' header?", set to: No (Deselected)
Setting # 63, "Use 'X-Mailer' header?", set to: No (Deselected)
Setting # 64, "Use 'Message-ID' header?", set to: No (Deselected)
Setting # 65, "Use 'Use "-f" additional sendmail parameter", set to: YES (Selected)

5. Save your System Settings by clicking any of the "Submit All" buttons on the page. The fix will take affect immediately.

Note: Different "Email Format Settings" than those listed in number 4 above may also work. The specific settings listed here are simply those that we were using in our lab in our testing. You're welcome to use the settings that work for you.
