|
|
A section of the new Modular Merchant knowledge base, containing an overview of the major new features to be introduced in the upcoming MMv4 update, has been launched!
The official list of MMv4 improvements is available at:
http://kb.modularmerchant.com/a524-introducing-mmv4-an-overview.php
The last time I counted, there were over 100 substantial improvements that will be introduced in Modular Merchant version 4 (MMv4). Some of these improvements are just cosmetic (such as changing all references of Manufacturer to Vendor) and some are quite substantial (such as the new Event Engine that powers promotions, discounts and coupons).
MMv4 Release Date
An official release date for MMv4 has not yet been set. The software is currently in development, with beta testing scheduled to begin this summer. Beta testing is expected to last at least three months. A public release date will be announced when the beta testing is nearing completion.
As of June 1st, MMv4 has been in development for 18 months. We are very excited to make MMv4 publicly available, but there's a whole lot to test and polish before it's ready for public consumption. _________________ Rutabaga

I'm loving the fact of being able to cancel orders and do refunds. Also the ability to make UPS labels. The SuperSearch will be a Godsend. Customer reviews is also nice.
But what I'm not seeing is better inventory control. I'm sure you referenced it in some of your Twitter updates. Being able to quickly place re-orders with vendors, and update inventory levels upon receiving orders has to be a must in your update! Maybe I just didn't see it spelled out in black & white on your announcement list.
Otherwise looking good.

I am hoping you have re introduced the ability to get an open basket report.
In V3 the report lost the ability to capture partially filled in baskets before completing orders . .a valuable tool to observe problems with the conversion funnel, and a great way to salvage orders which, for whatever reason, weren't completed. |
