Hello!

I've been playing around with the shopping-cart a bit now; and it's time to start making the templates. I got questions I wish to be answered.

* Function reference
* SQL-queries
* What is available in PHP for the scripts?

What I like to be able to do is to either integrate the store into an existing website with a few pages, or let those few static pages integrate into the shopping-cart.

As for features I wish the website to have is being able to search products in categories, a feature already supported by the shopping-cart. What I also like to be able to do with this is to search products in multiple specified categories. Do I need to use the mm_fetch_data() function for that or is there any other way?

Which dialect of SQL is used in the mm_fetch_data() function? Is it MySQL or something custom built?

Is it possible to host the software for the shopping-cart on my own server?
How do integrate my current website if the shopping-cart is on another server?
Is domain-masking possible?

A lot of questions and hopefully some of them will be answered.

Thanks and have a great day!

There are a couple of ways to integrate an existing website into the Modular Merchant software.

1. The first option would be to setup hosting with Modular Merchant and have either a sub-domain or the full domain hosted with us. By doing so, will enable the pages already created to be seamlessly a part of the store. For more information about the hosting options available through Modular Merchant, please log into your Administration area and go to [Navigation Menu > Hosting > Hosting Setup Checklist].

2. The second method would be to utilize the QuickLinks available in the store. Using these allows for the external website to be used more as the storefront. It is possible to setup a "Buy Now" button and have the customer be linked directly to any part of the shopping cart without needing to go through any extra steps of navigation. For more information about using the QuickLinks, please refer to this forum article: http://forums.modularmerchant.com/viewtopic/505/

All of the storefront pages contain a centralized search function that will search the entire store for the specified products or information and will display the results in the search_results.php page. As the search tool is all inclusive, there is currently no way to limit where the search tool will search.

This and all other functions that start with "mm_" are propriatery Modular Merchant functions. To inquire about any source code for this or any other Modular Merchant function it is recommended to submit the request in a support ticket [Navigation Menu > Support > New Support Ticket]. These requests are reviewed on a case by case basis.

No, the Modular Merchant software must be hosted on servers that Modular Merchant maintains, as per our policy. By having the software hosted on server Modular Merchant maintains allows us to provide periodic updates to the software as well as to offer technical support.

As mentioned above, this is possible by either setting up hosting options with Modular Merchant or to utilize the QuickLinks and link the existing website to the Modular Merchant store.

This options is currently unavailable in the software.

I hope this information was helpful and points you in the right direction. If you have any further questions, please let us know.
