The "Missing order data: Customer ID not found." message is caused when a field required during the "guest checkout" process is missing. The missing field confuses the store into thinking that the customer must be a returning customer, and not a guest. It then looks for the customer's account ID number, and, not finding it, displays this error.
The solution to prevent this error message is pretty simple: make sure that both the "email address" and "confirm your email address" fields are present during the guest checkout process.
Brand new customers and guests are required to confirm their email address, to prevent errors.
Returning customers have already gone through this process, so the email confirmation field is not required for them.
The lack of the email confirmation field on the checkout page makes the store software deduce that the customer must be a return customer, but no customer account ID number is found, and the error is triggered.
