I am in test mode and testing a purchase to CA and my company is in CA. With these parameters, taxes are at $0.00 - It should be calculating.
Further, I went to see if the products in the cart were taxable in the Product Search.
When doing a search on "Taxable (Y/N) is Y" the products are NOT displayed. But when I click on one of the products in question, #3 in Shipping & Fees IS checked ( Include product in tax calculation? Yes (If Yes, this product will be included when taxes are calculated.) )
Am I looking at the same field here, or are there different fields that denote taxability?
Thanks!

for some reason or another, the 3 products which I am testing (which are ones that I moved to the storefront) did not have a category set. After setting a category, they are NOW displayed when i do a search for "Taxable Y/N is Y", but in testing another purchase, taxes are still not being calculated.
Thanks!

To answer this question, in order for sales tax to be applied to an order please do the following:
1. From the Administration area go to [Navigation Menu > Groups & Zones > Tax Groups], select the Tax Group in which will be applied.
2. Click on the faded Red X icon under the Act. column. This will activate the Tax Group.
3. To makes changes to a tax group, click on the E under the Edit column.
4. To add a new Tax Group, click the Add a Tax or Charge button.
5. Go to [Navigation Menu > Products > Search Products], find the product that will be taxed. Click on the product name to open the Product Editor.
6. Under the Shipping & Fees tab, select Option #3 to include this product in the sales tax calculations. Click Submit when finished.
Note: This is the most common cause of taxes not being applied to orders. If a client experiences other problems with taxes, they should start a support ticket so that MM tech support can investigate the issue in their specific account and account settings.
I hope this information was helpful. If you have any further questions, please let us know. |
