Disruptive Server Maintenance Scheduled for 11/6/2008

Hello,
On October 30th, we informed clients hosted on "server07" that the issue causing the recent series of downtime appeared to have been resolved. (See Support Ticket "Server unresponsive 10/29/2008" for more details.)

However, even after those improvements were made, this server continued to experienced performance issues; both on Friday, October 31st and Saturday, November 1st.

To prevent further server failures, the next step will be to move all accounts on server07 to a brand new server. This move will require all websites hosted on the server to be offline for a short period of time. Since the server continues to be unreliable, we are considering this a high-priority issue, and have scheduled a time to perform this move.

This server replacement has been scheduled for midnight PST on Wednesday 11/6/08. The server will be offline for an estimated 60-90 minutes during this move.

The move will be accomplished by moving server07's hard drive(s) to a new server chassis. All components, other than the hard drive(s), will be new. The server ID number will remain "server07". All website and database addresses will remain the same.

We hope this will resolve the recent performance issues. If not, then we will continue to work with the hosting facility to escalate the issue until it is confirmed to be resolved.
