|
|
I want to use the product modifiers on a few items, but don't know how to link them to the correct SID product. I thought that the button at the bottom of the modifier tab in the product editing area would create the product modifications as separate products (with unique SID's) so that you could track inventory etc. but I'm not seeing that that happened.
Please tell me what I'm missing??? lb |

Good questions. The answer should be as simple as opening another page in the store's administration area. Here's the details...
First off, adding product modifiers to a parent product in the "Modifiers" section of the Product Editor screen is the correct way to create variations of the products. However, assigning Product Modifiers to a product does not create a bunch of new products with new SID numbers. (The purpose of Product Modifiers is to prevent the need to create a new product and SID for each variation of the product.)
All of the variations of the product created by the modifiers can be found in the "Manage Inventory" section of the store's administration area. This area is located at: [Navigation Menu > Products > Manage Inventory].
The Manage Inventory screen includes options to search for products and edit their SKU, price, sale price, active status, availability status and stock levels. There's also links to open the parent product in the Product Editor screen.
So, it sounds like the Manage Inventory screen is what you're looking for. I hope this info is helpful! Let us know if you have any other questions on this topic. _________________ Modular Merchant Mail Bag

Hi - I am having trouble managing my stock.
I have a T-Shirt product item set up with 2 sets of attributes: Shirt Type and Size.
There are 2 options for the shirt attribute - Mens or Ladies.
There are 5 size options in the shirt size attribute - s, m, l, xl, xxl.
I would like it so that when a user selects the "ladies" shirt option, the size option removes the XXL value from the size attribute.
I assumed that this could be achieved by setting the stock of a particular product to finite, and the quantity to 0. I have done this however, and the XXL option still appears when I select the ladies t shirt attribute on my product.
Any thoughts? |

Hello,

This is not possible in the current version of the software. However, there are plans to add more functionality to the Product Modifiers in the next major software update. In the meantime a possible workaround would be to either add modifiers that would specify it is Woman's or Men's sizes (ie: Modifier Group for Men's sizes and another Modifier Group for Woman's). Or to have separate products for men and women this will allow for more specific modifiers to be available for the product.

When a variation of a product (modifier) is out of stock, it cannot be added to the basket; and a "Out of Stock" message will be displayed in the storefront to the customer. However, being out of stock does not remove any of the options from the "modifier versions" dropdown menus, all of the modifiers will still be available.
I hope this information was helpful. If you have any further questions, please let us know. |
