| Quote: | | My store is hosted in the default "starter" location, under the "modularmerchant.com/clients/" domain. My store has a SSL security certificate installed, but when I click on the "lock" icon to verify it, guess what it says? It says the security certificate is owned by modularmerchant.com. Why isn't the SSL certificate in our store registered to our domain name? And what can we do to get this fixed? I really want to use this thing because it will increase comfort levels and sales. |
SSL security certificates are registered to the domain name. So, when your store starts out and it is hosted at "modularmerchant.com/clients/(account name)/", it is hosted under the "modularmerchant.com" domain, so it uses Modular Merchant's SSL certificate. There's no security problem with this. In fact, this is the way the SSL needs to be configured in order to actually be secure.
So how do I get my store's SSL to be registered to my domain?
Modular Merchant's Marketplace STANDARD account includes a hosting options that allow your store to be moved from the starter area, to your own domain name. With the Marketplace STANDARD plan, we'll also purchase, configure and install the SSL certificate for you. So then, when your customers click on the little "lock" icon in your store, they'll see that the SSL certificate is registered to your own domain name, instead of modularmerchant.com, which may give them even greater peace of mind. _________________ Modular Merchant Mail Bag
