There is a way to manually add tracking numbers to an order. When the shipping status is updated, an email can be sent to your customer with the status update and tracking number. These are the steps that need to be taken to accomplish this task:
1. In the system settings [Navigation Menu > Admin > System Settings], look for the section titled "Customer Management." Make sure "Email customers when ordered items' shipping status changes?" is checked.
2. Obtain the tracking number from your courier
3. Go to the Search Orders page [Navigation Menu > Orders > Search Orders].
4. Enter the tracking numbers into the field(s) labeled "Tracking ID(s)" and check the corresponding box(es).
5. Scroll to the bottom portion of the page and select "Update tracking IDs" from the dropdown menu and click submit.
6. Scroll back up to the order(s) that you have added the tracking IDs to and click the cardboard box icon which is located in the section titled "Status".
This will mark the order as shipped and will email the customer a shipping status update with the tracking number included.
As a suggestion, I would probably not mark any order as shipped until the tracking number is obtained from your courier and inputted into the system.
