Processing refunds

Is there a way to process a refund, or to credit money back to the customer's card, without going into Authorize.net?

Sometimes products do get returned, for whatever reason. Or, people place an order, and then decide they don't want it.

I did search on "refund" - but it didn't pop up anything.

Hello Bill,

Thanks for your inquiry. Currently there is no way to refund credit cards through Modular Merchant. All credit card refunds have to be processed through your payment gateway. The Modular Merchant does have the ability to mark orders as returned by ship agent, returned by customer and canceled so as to provide a way to document when orders are sent back and refunded.

We have received the documentation to add this feature so we are including it in the development schedule as a Feature Request. We don't know when exactly it will be available, that all depends on client demand. I hope this answers your question and if you have anymore please don't hesitate to ask!

I would like to encourage you folks to consider this one, it would be very much more convenient, not to have to go to Authnet for the refund . . .It would be even better if the script Authnet gave you would allow for recording the Authnet refund transaction number within MM admin somewhere . .. ??

Thanks for your suggestion. We'll consider that one more vote for expanding the features for Authorize.net in the store! I'm taking the "priority level" of this feature request up a notch on our development schedule right now. (No release date for this feature has yet been set, but it's now higher up on the list.)
