You may add up to ten custom Checkout Fields to your store's checkout page. These fields are includes on the page in which the customer selects their shipping options. They are recorded with each individual order, not with the customer’s account information. Checkout Fields are best used to record responses that are unique for each individual order placed, such as “Special delivery instructions”.
These fields can be single-line text, multi-line text or dropdown menus. You can also specify these fields as being required or unique. The custom Checkout Fields editor is located in the Checkout Fields area, found under the Groups & Zones button in the navigation menu.
The Checkout Fields Editor can contain up to ten custom-made fields that will be displayed during the checkout process in your store. These fields can be used to collect additional information from your customers, such as how they heard about your website, or special delivery instructions for their order. The editor starts with ten empty slots, each of which can contain one Checkout Field. Empty slots will contain the following message: Custom checkout field [ID Number] not found. Create it. Click this link to make a custom Checkout Field.
