Pre-Sale Questions and Future Features

Like any other merchant, I'm always out looking about for newer better ecommerce solutions that are keeping up with the latest trends.

I came across Modular Merchant in some forums where I heard some good things about your features. I gave the free trial a try and, wow, very nice interface layout, lots of thoughtful features, and useful time saving order fulfillment options. I'm impressed!

However, it was to my surprise some basic ecommerce features were not available. I see that Modular Merchant is very active with feature requests, even has a list in the admin (very nice feature), but I didn't see any of the following ecommerce feature staples:

- Product Up-Sell or Cross-Sell features on the Product & Cart Pages
- Anonymous Checkout
- Product Options Inventory Tracking
- RMA Tracking
- Custom Product Fields (Ex: Memory: 256mb, Size: 2 x 3 x 5)
- Customer Product Reviews

I'm curious if these are possibly in the works? I'm also curious if the following are being considered as feature requests:

- CRM System allowing merchants to offer a trouble ticket system to their customers?
- Dimensional Shipping Considerations? The storing of shipping dimensions per product? I've seen this as a standard box management system where you can assign box sizes to a product along with the number of items that can fit in a box. These sizes are then used in the shipping calculation APIs to get a more accurate shipping quote especially on Next Day Air shipments.
- Estimate shipping costs at the product level?

Product Up-Sell or Cross-Sell features: In development right now but as for an exact release date, we don't have one quite yet.

Anonymous Check Out: I'm not entirely sure what you meant by this so if you could give me an example I would appreciate it.

Product Options Inventory Tracking: We do have this option under Navigation Menu>Products>Inventory Manager.

RMA Tracking: We do have this on the schedule for development but it's low on the list.

Custom Product Fields: We have a product field option. It's explained in the Administrative Guide on page 64-5. (http://www.modularmerchant.com/docs/MMv2_Admin_Manual.pdf) Is this what you were referring to?

Customer Product Reviews: We do have this in development also. It is mid-priority but in front of it are Cross sell, Wish List/Gift Registry and a Customer Loyalty Points Program.

CRM System: Currently this is under consideration for development. We have our own Support Ticket System that we use. As soon as we finish all of the features we would like to make a version for our Clients.

Dimensional Shipping Considerations: Right now this is a lower priority item that is in consideration for development.

Estimate Shipping Costs: Products can have an individual shipping fee currently on our software. If you go to the Navigation Menu>Products>Search Products>Edit a Product then go under the Shipping and Fees tab. The option that says "Additional Shipping Charge" will give you the option that you were looking for.
