Modular Merchant version 2.015 introduces three new QuickCode Tags designed for use specifically with the Digital Products module. The use of these three new QuickCode tags is described below:
Part One: Customizable Digital Product Messages
First of all, there are several text and email messages that can be customized by store Administrators to include additional information or instructions for the customer. These custom messages may be displayed to the customer in the following locations:
A) appended to the beginning or ending of the customer's receipt email,
B) delivered as a separate email, or
C) displayed at the top of the receipt webpage.
These messages are located in the following areas:
Message in the customer's receipt web page or email message: Located at: Navigation Menu > Messages > Receipt Messages. On this page, there is a section for writing a message that is displayed at the top of your customer's receipt webpage, and another section titled, "Receipt Email Messages", which contains two fields: one field for a message that is displayed at the beginning of the receipt email, the other is displayed at the end of the receipt email.
Also, there is another customizable message available, which can be sent as a separate email: Located at: Navigation Menu > Modules > Digital Products > Module Options > Option # 7, "Custom Digital Delivery message".
Part Two: Using QuickCode Tags to Add Dynamic Content to these Custom Messages
If you want to make you customer's download link and download password more prominent, you can now use three new "QuickCode" tags in the messages listed above. This will allow you to write whatever message you like, and still include the customer's unique download password. The "QuickCode" tags available for adding the download information in your messages are:
A) {DOWNLOAD PASSWORD} = The customer's download password.
B) {DOWNLOAD EXPIRATION} = The date the customer's downloads will expire.
C) {DOWNLOAD URL} = The web address of your store's download area.
For example, if you wanted to add a message to the beginning of the customer's email receipt that contains their download password, you could use the following text in the Email Receipt Message field:
Thank you for your purchase. REMEMBER: You will need to use the password {DOWNLOAD PASSWORD} to access your downloads! Download your files from our website at: {DOWNLOAD URL}
That message would be translated in the customer's email receipt to something like:
Thank you for your purchase. REMEMBER: You will need to use the password 1A2B3C4D5E6F7G8H9J to access your downloads! Download your files from our website at: http://www.modularmerchant.com/clients/my_account/download/ |
