| Quote: | | I have an Internet Merchant account, such as Authorize.net or Verisign PayFlow Pro. How do I integrate it into our Modular Merchant shopping cart? |
Your account's System Settings have several fields in which you can enter your Merchant Account info. Once entered, your Modular Merchant store will begin to communicate with your Merchant Account to validate and process credit cards.
Where are my System Settings located?
Your account's System Settings are located in your store's Administration area at: Navigation Menu > Admin > System Settings. See Figure 1 below for an example of where to find your System Settings in the Navigation Menu:
Figure 1: System Settings link in the Navigation Menu
What information do I enter into these System Setting fields?
The Merchant Account options is are in System Settings #54-59*. See Figure 2 below for an example of these System Setting options.
Figure 2: Merchant Account options in the System Settings
#54: Check here if you accept Credit Card payments.
Keep this option checked, "Yes".
#55: Credit Card payment processing gateway:
Select your Merchant Account provider from this dropdown menu. For example, if using an Authorize.net account, select "Authorize.net" from this dropdown menu.
#56:When is money collected from credit cards?
Credit Card funds can either be collected automatically during checkout or later by using tools in the Administration area. Some companies collect funds at the time of transaction. Other companies authorize that the funds are available at the time of checkout, but don't actually collect the funds until they ship the order. Whichever option you chose is up to you.
#57: Payment Gateway/Merchant Account Login:
Enter your Merchant Account login here. This login will differ depending on your Payment Gateway. For example, newer Authorize.net accounts require you to create an "API Key" within your Authorize.net account area, which will be used as your login. Your store will connect to your Payment Gateway account during checkout to validate and optionally charge the credit card. Incorrect login information may result in transaction failure during the checkout process
#58: Payment Gateway/Merchant Account Password or Transaction Key:
Enter your Payment Gateway account's password or transaction key here. Which you enter depends on your Payment Gateway provider. For example, Authorize.net and Echo require you to create a "transaction key", which is used here instead of your account password. (How do I create a Transaction Key?) For all other Payment Gateways, enter your Payment Gateway account password. Incorrect password information, or using the account password instead of the transaction key when required, may result in transaction failure during the checkout process. This field is encrypted when stored in your account preferences file.
#59: Payment Gateway Partner value. (Verisign PayFlow Pro users only.)
This field is only required if you are a user of the PayFlow Pro Payment Gateway. PayFlow Pro accounts are now offered by many providers. Enter the name of your PayFlow Pro account provider here. (The most common PayFlow Pro account provider is Verisign. By default, "Verisign" is entered into this field.)
How do test my settings without actually charging a credit card?
Your account's System Settings include an option for putting your store into "Test Mode". In Test Mode, dummy credit card information is sent to your Payment Gateway. The store communicates with your Payment Gateway account, but no funds are authorized or charged. This is a good way in which to test and confirm that your store and Payment Gateway accounts are both configured correctly and communicating with each other.
Note: Many Payment Gateways, such as Authorize.net, also have their own Test Mode setting, which can be toggled on or off from within their own account area. If you are ready to start taking real credit card orders, be sure that Modular Merchant's System Setting and your Payment Gateway are both taken out of Test Mode.
