1. Is there a list of all the possible "credit card" error messages that are displayed when the customer's credit card check fails? (I'm referring to the error that shows up in red on the "checkout_failure.php" page.) So far we've encountered several (AVS mismatch, "an error occurred during processing-call merchant service provider" etc.) but would like to anticipate the others. Are they generated by you or Authorize.net?

Yes, the message displayed in red text on the checkout_failure.php page is the verbatim message returned from your payment gateway, such as Authorize.net, PayFlow, etc. Authorize.net has roughly 150 different messages they may respond with, depending on the error. A list of these messages can be found on page 26 of their Advanced Integration Method Integration Guide for Card-Not-Present Transactions, available at: http://www.authorize.net/support/AIM_guide.pdf

As of Modular Merchant version 2.021, the style of this error message is hard-coded as red text. This will be changed in the next software update. In Modular Merchant versions greater then 2.021 the style of this text will be fully customizable.

The checkout_failure.php page has its own customizable HTML template. By editing this template in the Skin Editor, you'll be able to customize the rest of the elements on the checkout_failure.php page. (The Skin Editor is located in your Administration area at: Navigation Menu > Design > Skin Editor.)

This message is also written by the system in version 2.021, and will become editable in an upcoming software update.
